Areas at risk of flood are home to those that can least afford to respond to it.
Climate change will adversely effect most of us but most of all the financially vulnerable. To understand this elanev worked with a leading lender to apply elanev Resilience, our award winning financial resilience / vulnerability score to Environment Agency’s flood risk data. This showed that areas at risk to river and coastal flooding are home to those that can least afford to respond to the threat or its impact. As regulators require firms to adapt their business strategies in light of climate change will the financially vulnerable, or those close to it, become the unbanked and the uninsured of the future?
